Movie Review: Mission Impossible 5 - Rogue Nation

Mission: Impossible 5 Rogue Nation

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie
Cast: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Alec Baldwin

Summary
This is the fifth edition of Tom Cruise's franchise/ series called Mission Impossible. First version was released in the year 1996 and fifth version is out in 2015. Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt who is a secret service agent similar to James Bond 007. So if you have seen any of the earlier versions or the promos you exactly know what to expect when you enter the cinema hall.

What Works Well?

Production Value is excellent. It is shot at multiple international locations including London, England and Casablanca, Moracco. Camera work, Action and Direction are top rate. Cruise is in his element as Ethan Hunt and the supporting cast have played their part well. Rebecca surprises with her act and gives tough on screen competition to Cruise.

This is a blink and you miss action thriller. The plot revolves around a conspiracy of creating a Rouge Nation. Very close to 007 James Bond stuff. Action sequences are breathtaking, specially the bike chase and Ethan hanging on to the plane are smartly presented.

What Does Not Work Well?

The core mission of stealing the secret stuff does not excite much this time. It is way too unrealistic and also does not provide that much thrill as compared to the earlier versions of the Mission: Impossible series. It could have definitely been better but it seems the writers ran out of good ideas after creating first four impossible missions. Nonetheless, overall this is a very good product which provides many thrilling moments and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
