Movie Review: Tevar
Summary:
Tevar is the Cliche Bollywood Hero, Heroine, Villain Movie
What To Expect?
Tevar has been directed by Amit Sharma who has directed Ad films earlier so this is his first feature film as a director. If you have seen the promos of Tevar you would expect a formula hero, heroine, villain movie. Typical Bollywood stuff.
Does it Meet the Expectation?
Yes, it does meet the expectation. Amit Sharma has hit bulls eye with his first attempt as director. Each frame has the traditional stamp of Bollywood masala. Brilliant work.
What Works Well?
Performances -
Excellent performances by all the actors. Arjun Kapoor establishes himself as the tough guy. After Ishaqzade and Gunday this movie cements his status as a romantic and tough guy both at the same time. Sonakshi plays her part well. But the guy who walks away with the credit is Manoj Bajpai. He is in supreme form.
Story, Script and Execution -
Good. This is a remake of a Telugu movie Okkadu. But the director has done a good job in recreating it in UP style. Movie is filmed in India so no scope for any foreign locations/ visuals.
Music: Ranges from
Average to
Good. Songs are catchy. Background music is good.
What Does Not Work Well?
Climax -
Length is a bit too much. Some sequences and songs could have been avoided to make it more crisp and fast paced.
Watch it if you like the Bollywood formula stuff.
